Katherine L. Curtis

Associate Attorney

Katherine L. Curtis joined The A.D.I.L.A. Law Group in the winter of 2009. In that time she has been assisting clients with various immigration matters. Ms. Curtis has made regular appearances before the Immigration Courts, where she has fought to maintain lawful permanent residence for her clients, as well as obtain lawful permanent residence for clients for the first time through Asylum, NACARA, Cancellation of Removal, and Adjustment of Status processes. Ms. Curtis has also pursued her clients’ interests before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Board of Immigration Appeals. In addition, she has experience before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Education and Experience

  • Ms. Curtis completed undergraduate studies at the University of Redlands, where she completed a double major in Government and Spanish. While there, she became a member of several honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa and Mortar Board. In 1999, she graduated from the University of Redlands and began her studies at the University of San Diego School of Law.

  • Ms. Curtis’ interest in immigration law began when she attended law school. At the University of San Diego, Ms. Curtis participated in the Immigration Law Clinic, where she assisted individuals resolve their immigration issues on a pro bono basis. While attending classes for that clinic, Ms. Curtis accepted a position as a law clerk for her teacher, Jan Joseph Bejar. From 2001 until 2002, Ms. Curtis worked at the Law Offices of Jan Joseph Bejar as a clerk.

  • Immediately after passing the bar, in December 2002, Ms. Curtis began working full-time as an Associate Attorney. She has been working in that capacity since her admission to the practice of law. As an Associate Attorney, Ms. Curtis has experience in an extensive range of immigration matters.

Membership

Ms. Curtis is admitted to practice law before the California Supreme Court. In addition, she is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California. She has also been admitted to practice, and has extensive experience, before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
